And it's often a simple activity to carry out - just read an article that seems overly long, or one that you think could have been much better? Then create your own shorter rebuttal.
To do an argumentative essay rebuttal, think about how a reader would react to the information presented in a writing and format the information in such a way that it would not be difficult for a reader to read it. Take an article that is too long, or that you think has nothing useful in it. Simply insert some information in brackets and set it up so that the article does not have any additional information beyond the article's body. For example, instead of writing: 'Many times, certain people will read too much and not know what to do with the information they have read. For example, it is not unusual for your employers to see your boss' email address on all the emails you send to them. It is hard to be productive if you are constantly correcting what is written on paper.' What could be more disorganized than this? Create a short piece that asks the question; 'How much information is too much information?' Then read the article and construct the answers. Be as detailed as possible, but be sure to include relevant points such as your boss's email address in brackets. Once you are finished, show the article to someone you trust to judge its quality. There are many counter arguments that you can make against the article that can change a reader's opinion of the article, making them think that there is something wrong with the article, and making the reader think that you have made a good argument. You can also use this point as a way to put some pressure on your employer. As I stated above, creating an essay rebuttal is not difficult. In fact, I would even recommend that you look at more information than just the information in the article you are rebutting. Get as involved as possible in the article itself, so that you don't simply react to the facts of the article, but as an impartial observer of the piece itself. If you do not take a genuine interest in the subject of the essay, you will not be able to write an essay rebuttal in the most effective way. If you feel that the information in the article is not worth your time, or if you do not know enough about the topic to effectively critique it, then the best idea for you is to just move on and find another article to respond to. But if you are really interested in the subject and feel that you have some knowledge and abilities regarding the topic, then create your own essay rebuttal.
